Jetstar launches with a splash.

Jan 10, 2006 (Travel Digest (NZ) - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Jetstar, a low-cost offshoot of Qantas, began services to New Zealand (NZ) in December
2005. The launch coincided with a visit to NZ's South Island by Magda Szubanski, also known as "Julie Jetstar". Szubanski is about to feature in Jetstar advertisements promoting the South Island. Jetstar has carried over one million passengers since it commenced operations in 2004. The Australian
carrier's CEO, Alan Joyce, says Jetstar has made it easier for people to fly more frequently.
