contributions splitting policy. The new laws allow a super fund member to share his or her super with a spouse. The new regime begins on 1 January 2006. Meanwhile, a
parliamentary inquiry is looking at ways to improve the super contributions of those under 40. The Australian Taxation Office has also ruled that anti-avoidance provisions will not apply if a business pays super contributions that are in excess of the value of the services provided by an employee.
