Lennon, said on 22 February 2006 that there was a large amount of institutional money poised to re-enter the market. Australian iron ore exporters, BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto, are presently negotiating 2006-07 contract prices with Japanese and Chinese steel mills. The strength of the spot price of iron ore means there is a good chance they will be able to secure higher contract rates.
