Feb 20, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The World Health Organization warned in February 2006 that the world market for

medicines has become a target for crime gangs. Fake drugs are being mislabelled and sold to unsuspecting consumers, with sometimes fatal consequences. The market in counterfeit drugs is expected to be worth $US75 billion ($A100 billion) by 2010. Official are now calling for more innovative prevention measures to combat the problem, such as radio frequency identification tagging of drugs.
