Parenting orders more harm than good: judge.

Feb 15, 2006 (The West Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Parental Support & Responsibility Bill is currently being discussed in Western Australia (WA). Under the proposed legislation, parents of juvenile offenders could be compelled by the Children's Court to attend mandatory counselling after an application has been made by the Department for Community Development, Department of Education & Training or Department of Justice. There would also be provision for fines of up to $A2,000 for breaching the new responsible parenting orders.
