Feb 15, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The number of disputes in Australia's franchising sector has declined in the wake of the introduction of the Franchising Code of Conduct in 1998. Max Coulthard, of Monash University, says that less than two per cent of the nation's franchises are currently involved in disputes. Fees and communication
issues are the most common sources of disputes. Experts claim that franchisors now tend to take pains to ensure that they meet their disclosure obligations to franchisees.
