Feb 13, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- An Australian Senate committee hearing has heard telco Telstra first announced, then
cancelled spending of $A200m on network improvements. The program to fix copper lines in mostly rural areas would have been to the benefit of some 200,000 subscribers, but was abandoned shortly after new CEO Sol Trujillo started in the job and announced a strategic review of Telstra's infrastructure.Telstra company secretary Douglas Gration notes the $A200m has been incorporated into the business's new, $A3bn strategy, but this
