Conflicting IR game plans.

Feb 13, 2006 (BRW - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Game theorists gave their views on the likely outcome of Australia's proposed industrial

relations (IR) reforms. The theorists, who specialise in modelling negotiations, forecast that the new IR regime will cause a large power shift in favour of employers. They expect the regime to foster self- interest. John Zeleznikow, an information systems specialist at Victoria University,

thinks justice-based notions will be removed from IR due to the likely dismantling of unions. Joshua Gans, a marketing professor at Melbourne Business School, says the proposed IR laws are unfriendly to families.
