MacBank invites US group to join BAA bid.

Mar 13, 2006 (The Sydney Morning Herald - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian investment bank Macquarie Bank is looking for partners in its takeover move on UK airports group BAA. It has approached US
private equity firm Blackstone, in an attempt to assemble a consortium to rival that prepared by Spain's Ferrovial. The latter is believed to have gained the support of Temasek and Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec for a possible bid worth at least Stg10bn ($A23.5bn) for BAA. Both camps may
also gain the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan as a partner. Meanwhile, the British Civil Aviation Authority has noted any winning bid must make...
