Falling stars catch fund managers' eyes.

Mar 06, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Fund managers have made a number of surprise moves as a result of the December 2005 half- year reporting season. Perennial has increased its stake in BlueScope Steel despite its poor performance, and sold down its stake in Promina. In early March 2006 it declared itself a substantial shareholder in

the steel group. Wine producer, McGuigan Simeon, has found favour with US-based Brandes Investment Partners, even though it has struggled over the past 12 months. Brandes lifted its stake from 6.13 per cent to 7.54 per cent.
