Company tax rate of 30 per cent not the problem: Deloitte.

Mar 05, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Global accounting firm, Deloitte, believes that Australia's company tax rate is

competitive. The Australian Government has launched an inquiry into Australia's tax system. Miquel Timmers, of Deloitte, said that Australia's headline tax rate of 30 per

cent is competitive. He said that the government should deal with the costs coming from the complexity and the administration of the tax laws. Deloitte said that the May 2006 Budget should include cuts in personal income tax.
