Unions worried by AIRC decision.
Australasian Business Intelligence, April, 2006

Apr 27, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian aircraft engineers hold concerns about an industrial relations ruling. The Australian Industrial Relations Commission ruled that Qantas's decision to move heavy aircraft maintenance from Sydney to Avalon in Victoria was not subject to outsourcing protocols. It decided that Avalon was a Qantas facility. The Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers' Association is appealing against the decision. It is worried that it will make it easier for Qantas to move other work overseas.
