Apr 25, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- IT and online services are used extensively by the "Atax" taxation education program at the University of New South Wales (NSW). Director Chris Evans says that when it was first set up in the early 1990s, the courses were almost exclusively paper-based, but the rise of the internet has meant a move to online education modules, using the WebCT software. Atax, which has some 1,400 students enrolled, conducts a Masters of taxation degree course, as well as those of international taxation and applied taxation. Some 5 of students are overseas, and only 40 based in NSW itself.
