MBA glut forces school to university.
Australasian Business Intelligence, April, 2006
Byline: Bernard Lane
Apr 20, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The University of New South Wales's Australian Graduate School of Management will become part of the university's Faculty of Commerce & Economics. University vice-chancellor, Fred Hilmer, said the incorporation will provide the Australian Graduate School of Management brand with faculty depth that a stand-alone institution would not be able to achieve. Melbourne Business School dean, John Seybolt, said the merger could weaken the rival school's brand, and will be perceived as defensive because of its timing after the University of Sydney's withdrawal from a joint venture and due to the school's history of financial losses.
