Lab-grown bladder shows big promise.

Apr 17, 2006 (New Scientist - ABIX via COMTEX) -- American scientists have grown new bladders from patients' cells. The new bladders have been grafted onto existing bladders of seven young patients. The new method of tissue development was announced by Anthony Atala of Wake Forest University at Winston-Salem in North Carolina. Bob Lanza, head of scientific development at Advanced Cell Technology in Worcester, Massachusetts, believes it is the "beginning of a new medical era".
