Australasian Business Intelligence, April, 2006
Byline: Peter Wilson
Apr 12, 2006 (Lloyd's List Daily Commercial News - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The first Qantas plane to fly from Australia to San Francisco in over a decade landed in the US city in the week ending 31 March 2006. Qantas will initially fly three times a week from Sydney, but would like to extend its service to a daily one once it gets more planes. The airline has indicated that once it takes delivery of its Airbus A380 aircraft in April 2007, it will use these on its Australia-Los Angeles service, and will transfer the Boeing 747s used on that route to the San Francisco route.
