New boss joins Fairfax Digital division from Japan.

Apr 10, 2006 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A former executive with Liberty Media has been hired by Australian newspaper publisher, John Fairfax Holdings. Jack Matthews has been appointed MD of the company's Digital Division. He was previously chief operating officer and executive vice-president of Japan-based Jupiter Programming. Jupiter is a joint venture between Liberty Media and Sumitomo Corporation. Matthews' appointment was announced on 10 April 2006. Revenue at Fairfax's digital business rose by 67 per cent in the first half of 2005-06, to $A42.6 million.
