Pay-TV exec hired to run Fairfax online.

Apr 10, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian newspaper publisher, John Fairfax Holdings, has appointed a CEO for its online business. Jack Matthews will run Fairfax Digital, which includes dating and accommodation businesses but will not incorporate Fairfax's new acquisition, Trade Me. Matthews has previously been CEO of a Japanese pay TV programming company. He said that he planned to expand Fairfax Digital, and that there were opportunities for growth as the boundaries of the business were not definable.
