Ex-pay TV exec to run Fairfax digital.

Apr 10, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- John Fairfax Holdings has appointed Jack Mathews to run its Australian online media operations. Mathews, the former chief operating officer for Jupiter Programming, who has also worked at Playboy Video Enterprises, will report directly to Fairfax CEO, David Kirk. Online operations comprised approximately 4.6 per cent of Fairfax's $A262.9 million pre-EBITDA result for the six months to 31 December 2005. Mathews has also previously worked with PMP and TelstraSaturn.
