Tabcorp in picture to buy TVN stake and stymie PBL.

Apr 10, 2006 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Another bidder has emerged for a holding of 25 in Australian horse racing broadcaster ThoroughVisioN (TVN). Media and gaming group Publishing & Broadcasting Limited (PBL) had offered $A25m, but this has been matched by gambling company Tabcorp. While PBL may be looking to placate the racing industry in light of criticism for its new joint venture, the betting exchange Betfair, Tabcorp's main interest lies in resolving a damaging dispute over broadcasting rights between its Sky Channel subsidiary and TVN. TVN is believed to want to accept only one suitor.
