Aussie companies top globe for returns to shareholders.

Apr 10, 2006 (The West Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A report by the Boston Consulting Group praises the performance of Australian companies. It states that over the past five years they have delivered returns to shareholders that are the best in the world. The document, published on 10 April 2006, says companies in the All Ordinaries Index have returned 12.6 per cent compared with 6.3 per cent for those listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, 1.2 per cent for the FTSE 100 and 0.5 per cent for the US S&P 500. It cites the stable market environment, the concentrated nature of business and the skills of the labour market as contributing factors.
