Super funds to plough $1.5bn into hedges.

Apr 06, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australia's superannuation funds will increase their exposure to hedge funds by 41
per cent by 2011, a study predicts. The University of New South Wales study says $A1.5bn a year will be poured in on top of the current $A2.9bn as funds chase stability and above-market returns. The head of the Australian chapter of the Alternative
Investment Management Association, Kim Ivey, said in April 2006 there was currently a worldwide trend towards hedge funds. Australians have about $A30bn invested in such funds.
