Fairfax warns on online regulation.

Apr 06, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- John Fairfax Holdings CEO, David Kirk, has issued a response to the Australian
Government's proposed media ownership reforms. Kirk claims it is critical that the Government does not impose "back-door
regulation" on media content on broadband services and suggested that the Government take steps to ensure "aggressive policy settings" are in place to promote broadband deployment. Kirk has described broadband as an "integral" component of the future of Fairfax Digital. Fairfax shares closed $A0.15 higher on 6 April 2006, at $A4.07.
