Apr 09, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- News Corporation stakeholders will have significantly more input in the media empire's use of "poison pills". At its AGM in October 2006, the Australian- and US-listed company will allow shareholders to vote on whether to extend its takeover defence until November 2008. News Corp has formed an agreement with institutional investors, under which
it will not implement a new poison pill for nine months after its current defence expires. An exception would be made if a bid were made for 30 per cent or more of News Corp, or if any entity obtained a stake of at least five per cent.
