Apr 04, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Some brokers anticipate that Westpac Banking may implement a "step-change" in its dividend policy. Westpac has a relatively low payout ratio when compared with Australia's other banking majors. Westpac CEO, David Morgan, expects the bank's business credit to grow at twice Australia's gross domestic product over the next few years. A spokesperson for the
bank recently denied Morgan provided any new guidance on the group's dividend policy at meetings with analysts over the months to April 2006.
