Cold comfort: pandemic plans high on agenda.

May 31, 2006 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Experts say companies in Australia should implement plans to combat an influenza pandemic. A survey by International SOS found the proportion of companies that have started planning a strategy on how to deal with a pandemic rose from 16% to 36% between September 2005 and February 2006, a Melbourne conference organised by The Australian Industry Group heard. According to a survey by Mercer Human Resource Consulting, 47% of companies have a pandemic plan in place, and International Market Assessment Asia managing director, Richard Martin, expects this will increase to 60% by 2008.
