May 22, 2006 (The Australian Financial Markets Newsletter - INSTO - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The University of New South Wales did a survey for Alternative Investment Management Association in 2006. The survey was intended to gauge levels of hedge fund investing by Australian superannuation funds. The results suggest that Australian hedge funds will receive inflows of $A1.5 billion from super funds in the coming two-to-five years. Super trustees plan to reduce their allocations to European and Asian investment strategies in favour of Australia. The survey participants had an average of $A3.5 billion in funds under management and encompassed 20 per cent of the market.
