May 15, 2006 (Lawyers Weekly - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Sydney was the venue for the recent 16th annual Inter-Pacific Bar Association Conference. One of the sessions, chaired by Kathleen Singleton, focused on networking for female lawyers. Ann Miller, a lawyer from the US, suggested that women lawyers attempt to network at least once a day, while a number of people spoke of the difficulty of networking with lawyers or clients from other cultures. Malaysian lawyer Sitpah Selvaratnam said that networking is particularly difficult for women lawyers in Muslim countries.
