Aldi driving private label growth.

May 02, 2006 (Food Week - ABIX via COMTEX) -- German supermarket group, Aldi, has a strong presence in Australia. It sells a large number of packaged private label grocery products. A report from ACNielsen in Australia shows that private label producers had an overall value share of 18 of total packaged grocery products in the quarter ending 31 December 2005. ACNielsen believes that Aldi has been the main driver in developing and selling private label groceries in Australia. Other supermarket groups have followed Aldi's lead.
