Nestle and Aldi make temporary truce.

May 02, 2006 (Food Week - ABIX via COMTEX) -- A dispute between Nestle Australia and Aldi was referred to the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) in December 2005. The ACCC is seeking further information from all parties to the dispute. Nestle Australia went to the ACCC after it learned that Aldi supermarkets were selling Nescafe brand instant coffee manufactured in Indonesia and Brazil. Nestle Australia told that the ACCC that it wanted consumers to know that the coffee was from these countries and allegedly tasted "different". Nestle Australia has finally agreed to provide Nescafe Blend 43 coffee and other Nestle products to Aldi on condition that Aldi does not sell the imported versions.
