Macquarie floats cruise ship learning experiment.

Jun 18, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Macquarie University is part of a venture to offer intercultural studies aboard a cruise ship. The Scholar Ship is a floating international university. Seven universities, including Macquarie, will supervise the content of courses and assure quality. The Scholar Ship is negotiating a plan for Macquarie to offer the academic credits. The first voyage will leave in late 2007. Each semester will cost students $US20,000 ($A27,000). Fieldwork will be undertaken in eight different ports.
