Air Pacific calls for Fiji campaign.
Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2006
Jun 16, 2006 (Travel Weekly - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The rising cost of aviation fuel has affected the results of Air Pacific for the year to 31 March 2006. The airline's operating pre-tax profit fell by 40 per cent to $A21.5 million, with its fuel bill jumping by more than $A142.5 million. Its chair, Nalin Patel, said its fortunes were also affected by a sharp drop in tourist numbers in the period from January to March 2006, which he said was due in part to the adoption of a hotel tax in Fiji.
