Jun 19, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australia's Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) has warned of the threat that cyber crime poses for federal government agencies. The DSD has indicated that the IT systems of government agencies experienced a 129 per cent increase in security attacks in the three years to 31 December 2005. Trojan software in particular is being used to assault government systems, and is typically delivered via email. AusCert's latest computer crime survey shows that 60 per cent of organisations that experienced trojan attacks were in the public sector.
