Telstra's 'big bang' a risky move: Pretty.
Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2006
Byline: Emma Connors
Jun 08, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Ted Pretty is a former top executive from the Australian telco, Telstra. He has a number of business interests in 2006 and is happy to give his views about a recent Telstra decision. Pretty was commenting on the telco's plan to spend $A1 billion on reducing the complexity of its back-office systems. Pretty believes that such spending must be accompanied by cost reductions to pay off. He noted that change can be implemented incrementally. Pretty now works as an adviser at Macquarie Bank, has numerous private business interests and is on the Visy advisory board.
