Jun 06, 2006 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian telco Telstra is engaged in legal arguments over competition, and specifically over rivals' access to its infrastructure. It has already lost an appeal against a ruling by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) on line-sharing of its copper wire network so that smaller telcos can offer internet services. It is now also deadlocked in talks with the ACCC on access to its planned fibre optics network, which is yet to be rolled out. A group of several other telcos is also proposing that Telstra accept funding from them to build a network that would then be shared.
