Jun 08, 2006 (The Bulletin - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Atlassian Software Systems was Australia's third fastest-growing company in 2005. The four-year-old firm was founded by Scott Farquar and Mike Cannon-Brookes when both were 22 and newly-graduated from a business IT course at University of New South Wales. Atlassian has nearly 4,000 customers in 60 to 70 countries. Cannon-Brookes explains that the firm's two main software offerings, "JIRA" and "Confluence", are basically intended to dismantle "islands of information" and foster a flexible environment for knowledge workers. Atlassian's customers include NASA, Telstra and all leading US investment banks.
