Jun 07, 2006 (Travel Weekly - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Some SGD10 million has been placed into a fund to develop Singapore's cruise industry. The Fly-Cruise Development Fund has been created by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the Civil Aviation Authority and the Singapore Cruise Centre. The fund's first global cruise partner is Costa Cruises. Massimo Brancaleoni, a senior executive at Costa, says the number of cruise passengers in the Asia Pacific region is forecast to rise from one million to 1.5 million in the five years to 2010. The STB aims to double visitor numbers to 17 million by 2015.
