Quick bots to spray ID dots.
Australasian Business Intelligence, July, 2006
Byline: Simon Hayes
Jul 31, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- DataDot Technology CEO, Ian Allen, has revealed a robotic innovation the Sydney-based firm will commercialise. Australian law enforcement and the National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council are supportive of DataDot's robot which can spray 40 key parts of an automobile in 40 seconds, compared with an average of seven minutes to spray by hand. Although DataDot has deals with premium cars such as Audi, Holden Special Vehicles, Lexus and Subaru, reducing the spray time from seven minutes to 40 seconds is expected to widen its ability to service cheaper models rather than high-performance and luxury vehicles.
