Fuel won't clip Jetstar wings.
Australasian Business Intelligence, July, 2006
Byline: Steve Creedy
Jul 27, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The CEO of Qantas, Geoff Dixon, is optimistic about a new initiative of its budget carrier, Jetstar. Jetstar will begin flights to overseas destinations in November 2006. Dixon does not believe that the high cost of jet fuel will damage the business of Jetstar International. There has already been strong demand for Jetstar International tickets, on the basis of low fares for overseas travel. Dixon says the surcharges on Qantas and Jetstar airfares are helping to offset the price of jet fuel.
