T3 players take an each-way bet on telco sale.

Jul 24, 2006 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Telstra CEO, Solomon Trujillo, and chairman, Don McGauchie, have now expressed support for the full privatization of the Australian telco. The company has changed its position on the sale of the remainder of the Australian Government's holding, because it does not want the majority of shares transferred to the new Future Fund. There remain some obstacles to the full sale of Telstra, with the telco and the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) in dispute over wholesale pricing for access to its old copper wire network for broadband services. Access to a proposed new fibre broadband network is another point of contention.
