Study queries super reform boost.

Jul 20, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Debate continues about the effect of the Australian Government's recent superannuation reforms. An Access Economics study has found that a cut to the 15 per cent contributions tax would have had a bigger impact than the changes to tax on earnings and withdrawals. Economist Doug Ross told a University of New South Wales conference on 20 July 2006 that his study showed that super contributions would increase by only 2.6 per cent as a result of the changes, compared with 5.8 per cent if the tax on money going into the funds had been cut instead.
