Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2006

Byline: Julian Bajkowski

Aug 31, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has been sidelined by the Australian Government. The Government has appointed rival training and certification body, CompTIA Australia, to promote careers in the public service to technology students. The Government is trying to deal with a skills shortage in the public service. The ACS is suffering from a drop in membership and revenue, as well as internal disagreements. It has again been excluded from the Government's ICT Advisory Council.
