Skilled vacancies continue to rise.

Aug 28, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Department of Employment & Workplace Relations' "ITC Vacancy Index" shows most states have recorded a rise in IT and telco job vacancies. According to the index, vacancies for IT workers increased by 2.9% over the four weeks to mid-August 2006, and were 22.3% higher compared with the previous corresponding period. New South Wales accounted for 51.6% of online vacancies, and Victoria 24.7%. The Australian Information Industry Association has noted that salaries in the IT sector increased by an average of 4.1% in the year to August 2006, with a similar rise forecast for the next 12 months.
