Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2006

Aug 28, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Telstra CEO, Sol Trujillo, has launched a new attack on the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC). On 28 August 2006 he said the telco would appeal against the ACCC's ruling on line access prices. This followed the regulator's rejection of a formal undertaking by Telstra that it would charge a uniform national rate of $A30 per line for access to its local telephone network. The ACCC wants the rent in suburban areas to be set at $A17.70. In its statement the ACCC rejected Telstra's pricing model.
