Mushrooms the new superfood.

Aug 23, 2006 (Grocers' Review (NZ) - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Leading British nutritionist Jane Clarke is promoting the health benefits of mushrooms. Clarke was hired by the Mushroom Bureau to participate in a new consumer campaign, "Mushrooms - the Magic Ingredient". Research from Pennsylvania State University shows that white mushrooms are a source of the antioxidant ergothioneine. Mushrooms are also a good source of vitamin B, potassium, selenium, copper and phosphorous. Mushrooms are low in calories, fat and sodium.
