Aug 24, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Macquarie Bank has confirmed the complete divestment of the Macquarie Goodman Group (MGG) stake. The Australian investment bank sold its 7.7% interest on the night of 23 August 2006, in a $A733m placement that was enthusiastically oversubscribed by domestic and foreign institutional investors. The bulk of Macquarie's $A300m earnings from the sale went towards staff incentive payments and taxes, leaving Macquarie with $A90m in profit.
