Aug 15, 2006 (Ad News - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Telstra, the telco headed by Sol Trujillo, is Australia's sixth- biggest spender on advertising. This is part of the reason why "Ad News" has named Trujillo as the second-most influential person in Australian media, marketing and advertising. However, his high rating is also due to other factors, including his efforts to transform Telstra from a company based on fixed-telephone calls to a multimedia communications business that gets its revenue from a wide range of sources, including internet search engines and downloads. Potentially, Telstra may soon be competing with Foxtel, the pay TV company in which it owns a 50 per cent stake.
