Aug 15, 2006 (Weekly Tax Bulletin - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has issued a security alert. The ATO was informed by an Australian IT security agency that some home computer systems might be infected by a computer virus. Personal details may be gathered by unauthorised persons while the computer is being used to enter details into e-tax. Taxpayers are advised to download the latest security patches for their operating system, use a firewall, and use anti-virus software.
