Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2006
Byline: Andrew Heathcote
Aug 10, 2006 (BRW - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Sixty-seven companies undertook initial public offerings (IPOs) in the first half of 2006, according to HLB Mann Judd. This compares with 60 in the first half of 2005. However, in spite of the increase, accounting firms that represent private companies suggest that listing on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) is not the attraction that it once was. Indeed, Greg Will, of PricewaterhouseCoopers says he is aware of some listed firms that want to privatise themselves.
