Fairfax rekindles Asian push with mag buy.

Aug 08, 2006 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian newspaper group, John Fairfax Holdings, has acquired some magazines to expand its Asian market. It has agreed to buy seven magazines from International Data Corporation (IDC) in Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand. The deal includes the licensing rights to content in the Asian region. The price has not been disclosed but involves the sale of some UK titles to IDC. Fairfax plans to develop websites using content from IDC.
